How long have you been in business?
The first Atelier Gallery was founded in Asheville, NC by owner Gabrielle Egan in late 2008. The Atelier Gallery in Charleston, SC was opened in 2011.
What is your primary product or service?
We specialize in representing artists who create unique and original artwork in a wide variety of mediums including photography, oil, acrylic, ceramics, metal, wood, mixed media and fiber. Atelier Gallery is known for bringing fresh, original artwork to local and national collectors alike.
Atelier shows curated works from artists with both emerging and established resumes in all mediums. Many of our artists are from the Southeastern region, focusing on the Low Country aesthetic. We also have a collection of artists that exhibit within the gallery year round from places such as California, New York, Santa Fe, Maine, and beyond. Offering an expansive collection of such varied works, allows Atelier's art to resonate with admirers and collectors of all generations.
We enjoy introducing our visitors to something new and exciting each time they visit the gallery. Our clients expect the best, and we strive to offer high quality, affordable, and collectible pieces of fine art.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Gabrielle Egan grew up in Cape Cod, Massachusetts surrounded by artist parents. She enjoyed visiting museums in Boston as a child and participating in art classes at an early age. This created a love for the arts that would continue to be a driving force in Gabrielle's life. After becoming a jeweler in 2003 Gabrielle decided to venture into the world of art gallery ownership. During her time as a jeweler Gabrielle came into contact with many artists and decided that she would one day open a gallery of her own. A chance meeting with a jewelry customer landed her the first gallery space in downtown Asheville,NC and Atelier Gallery was founded. Since then the gallery has expanded to Charleston, SC on beautiful King Street. Gabrielle continues to select the artists and work that is placed in the gallery and works side by side with her team of art loving professionals to drive the business and expand their horizons!

We offer the best quality original artwork at competitive prices. The gallery also offers consulting services, staging for homes and offices and collection procurement.
